6D ATR-1 Flo Helmet The 6D ATR-1 Flo Helmet delivers Omni-Directional Suspension (ODS) technology and is designed to protect your brain over a broader range of impact energy, particularly lowthreshold energy which is associated with most accidents and is not to be confused with low-speed crashes. Low-threshold impact energy is the primary cause of concussion and second impact syndrome and can be present in both high-speed and low-speed crashes. Independent laboratory testing confirms a significant reduction in angular acceleration energy with the ODS system. Angular acceleration is another primary cause of rotational brain injury, which is a potentially deadly and life-changing impairment. The ODS technology helps prevent angular acceleration by providing more time, travel, and progression to manage the impact as the dampers compress and shear. This is opposed to the traditional helmet design which has always been directed at providing protection against only linear impact energy.
