In 2014 the Star Motorcycle division of Yamaha Motor U.S.A threw a wrench in the works of their competitors. There has been a shift in the motorcycle cruiser market over the last few years. Motorcycle manufacturers,like the Yamaha Star Motorcycles division,have taken notice of the growing number of younger motorcyclists seeking stylish,funtoride,middle weight cruiser motorcycles. Yamaha has penetrated this market segment with the 2014 Yamaha Star XVS950 Bolt and XVS950R Bolt RSpec motorcycles.The 2014 Yamaha Star XVS950 Bolt and XVS950R Bolt RSpec motorcycles are powered by a 58cubicinch 942cc aircooled 4stroke,Vtwin,SOHC,4valve,fuel injected engine which provides sufficient power considering the midsize cruisers 540 lb wet weight. However,thats not to say that the 2014 Yamaha Star XVS950 Bolt or XVS950R Bolt RSpec couldnt benefit from the addition of a few extra ponies and lbft of torque. A boost in power could come in handy when riding two up,or even if deciding to add saddlebags or a sissy bar bag and do some touring on the 2014 Yamaha Bolt. In addition to the KN stock replacement air filter,number YA9514,KN offers a highperformance custom open element air cleaner assembly for the 2014 Yamaha Star XVS950 Bolt and XVS950R Bolt RSpec,part number RK3940.KN started by creating a custom black powder coated aluminum backing plate,with integrated velocity stacks,to provide a solid mounting surface for a worldfamous KN highflow air filter. Included with the KN 2014 Yamaha Bolt aftermarket air cleaner is a custom KN air filter E3982 specifically designed to fit the Bolt intake and provide superior airflow as well as superior performance.
